Training Under Lockdown

What a year!

Training and supporting beekeepers has proved very challenging with social distancing. As if wearing a bee suit, gloves and wellingtons wasn’t enough in 30 degree heat, to then add a face mask and a 2 metre distance rule was interesting! That and having to carry out training on a one to one basis rather than groups of 5-6 meant several long days of training rather than a two hour session.

Unfortunately many of our classroom sessions and workshops were unable to go ahead, so looks like may be a busy year to come in 2021. Meet the Bees was also cancelled.

We shall be releasing dates for training for next year in the next couple of months and those on waiting lists, will get first choice of places. I suspect there will still need to be some social distancing so we will have to organise larger venues to accommodate people safely.

Let’s hope we can find a vaccine soon so we can get back to ‘normal’ again.
