On a snowy Saturday the 31/1/15 Thirteen SBT members attended Worplesden Golf Course for a Skep making workshop with Chris Park of Acorn Education

Thanks to the Green keepers we were able to use their workshop which was warm, dry, with tea making facilities and a toilet and looked like a stable with straw everywhere by the time we left!

The course started at 10am with a brief introduction from Chris and then it was straight into building a skep.

The initial part of starting the skep was the hardest, once the first curve and stitch was in place it was plain sailing, not!

By the end of the day with sore hands and a wet crouch most of us had made the top of the skep with the sides to now do, we all left with some materials to complete our skeps or some info on where to purchase more materials to do this or make more skeps.

Thank you to Chris for coming along and making this an enjoyable workshop.

Maybe we should arrange another day to get together and complete our skeps.
